The best thing you can do to buy less bottled water - buy Sigg re-usable bottles

Sigg Water Bottles from Switzerland - the best?

Because I know that the convenience factor looms large for many of us, I have spent a lot of time looking at the alternatives to single use plastic bottles.  So far these are my favorites (and why I am selling them at a discount on Turn to Tap - I really want people to try these out!)  There are tons of styles, shapes and sizes to choose from.  They're light, beautifully made, have a safe impermeable inner coating, and as long as you don't lose them, they're cheaper than single use water bottles - and of course hugely better for the environment.  You can buy them directly from this site (click on the store tab) or email me (editor@turntotap.com) and we can make arrangements directly.

Although SIGG has been around nearly 100 years, it's still a relatively new brand in the USA. Perhaps that's why in November 2005, SIGG was featured in TIME magazine's "The Most Amazing Inventions of 2005" – hey, the recognition comes a little late – but better late than never, right?

It seems just about every week now, another magazine or blog is featuring SIGG water bottles. Below are some of the latest items of SIGG in the news and people who believe what we do: "SIGG rocks!"

Form and function are on par with the Sigg Sport Style Water Bottle - By Emily Furia
My coworkers were skeptical when aluminum bottles from Sigg's sport collection ($19) began making an appearance on lunchtime rides. They're three times as expensive as a plastic bottle, they said, and you can't squeeze them. And both of those facts are true. But they're trifling concerns compared to the joy I get out of matching-or clashing-my bottle with my bike. (Fancy an argyle sipper? Sigg has you covered.)

And Sigg's bottles are as much about function as they are fashion. The bottle tops open and shut with a satisfying click, meaning I no longer accidentally soak the contents of my gym bag with a bottle that wasn't completely closed; beginning in December, you can visit MySigg.com to customize your bottle with your choice of lids and removable caps; Plastic after-taste is a thing of the past. And as someone who's prone to leaving half-finished bottles around her apartment and office, I appreciate that Sigg's creations look less like dirty dishes and more like miniature works of art. • USA Today (Dec 2006) – "It's easy Being Green"

Here are 10 things you can do in the new year to do your part for the environment, including some "go green" tips from Laurie David's website, http://www.StopGlobalWarming.org.

Save the water bottle. Sick of watching your recycle bin fill up with water bottles? Time to buy a reusable water bottle. Eastern Mountain Sports carries SIGG water bottles from Switzerland, including an 0.6-liter lightweight stainless steel model that is a replica of a 1941 Swiss Army bottle, $20, in blue or red.
